<p>General Function</p> <p>Plans and coordinates laboratory/classroom/clinical activities to support instructional programs and provides tutorial services to students.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Directs students in classes; trains and supervises activities of students; assists students with problems. </li><li>Tutors students, reviews student work, monitors student progress, and evaluates students in consultation with instructors. </li><li>Prepares facility for classes and ensures that work areas are clean and neat; ensures that equipment, materials, and handouts are laid out for classes. </li><li>Assists in maintaining equipment; performs simple maintenance, cleans and stores equipment when not in use, monitors condition, and notifies supervisor of any needed repairs. </li><li>Monitors inventory of materials and supplies, initiates ordering process as needed. </li><li>Researches and evaluates new equipment, and makes recommendations regarding purchase decisions. </li><li>Maintains a library of materials which may include books, tapes, and magazines. </li><li>Monitors activities of part-time student assistants; establishes schedules and assigns tasks. </li><li>Maintains records of activities and student files including grades and attendance. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Associate's Degree</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a community college / higher education setting or industry and experience as appropriate </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Working Days: Monday - Friday</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching / Supervisory skills </li><li>Knowledge of laboratory procedures </li><li>Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Classroom / Lab / Clinical Environment</p>
