<p>Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts to teach courses in Acting. This is a one-year appointment with a 12-credit per semester teaching load (4 courses per semester). This position may be renewable based on performance evaluation, institutional need and resource availability.</p> <p>Salary: $68,000-70,000</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>An MFA or PhD in Acting, Directing, or Theatre, or an earned bachelor's degree and equivalent professional experience based on the College's degree equivalency option. </li><li>Full-time or part-time teaching experience at the college level or equivalent. </li><li>Strong organizational and collaborative skills. </li><li>A commitment to pre-professional theatre training within the context of a liberal arts education. </li><li>Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching all levels of Acting courses, including basic technique, advanced scene study, Shakespeare, and On-Camera. </li><li>Keeping regular office hours </li><li>Advising and mentoring undergraduate students </li><li>Participating in departmental, divisional, and faculty council meetings </li><li>Engaging in other departmental service as determined by the department chair. </li></ul> <p>Candidates who have completed an MFA or Ph.D. will be considered for appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor; candidates who are hired with degree equivalency may be considered for appointment at the rank of Visiting Instructor.</p> <p>Application Materials and Process</p> <p>Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, contact information for three references, and a teaching statement that: 1) details how their work in previous positions has supported full classroom engagement, student-centered teaching, opportunity for every member of the classroom community, and an environment that allows for differences of thought, opinion, and background; and 2) how they would do so at Marymount Manhattan College in alignment with its commitment to inclusive pedagogy and its justice-oriented mission.</p> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.?All application materials should be sent to: theatrefacultysearch@mmm.edu</p> <p>About MMC's Theatre program</p> <p>The Theatre Arts department offers several programs including a BA in Theatre Arts (with four concentrations) and BFA programs in Acting, Design & Technical Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Stage & Production Management.
