<p>Purpose</p> <p>Supports the legal team with various aspects of the legal function. Drafts and negotiates contracts and real estate agreements and maintains real estate database, coordinating the processing of nondisclosure agreements, compliance matters, corporate filings, trademark management, outside counsel invoicing, and general corporate, contract, license and real estate work.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists the legal team, the company's business units and corporate functions in driving compliance efforts in a wide variety of areas </li><li>Drafts, negotiates and contracts manages for a variety or transactional agreements </li><li>Assists in responding to regulatory agency inquiries and investigations on a variety of issues, including but not limited to, product recalls, licensing, and agency inspection observations </li><li>Helps the company develop and manage its document retention policies </li><li>Prepares requests for Estoppel Certificates and Subordination, Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreements </li><li>Notifies appropriate departments when Licensee / Retail Partner contracts came up for renewal or termination and assists in drafting licensee documents </li><li>Assists in the processing of lease amendments </li><li>Identifies relevant laws, statutes and regulations that may be applicable to company initiatives </li><li>Maintains legal corporate files and other related documentation </li><li>Provides general administrative support for attorney(s) for specific business, legal needs </li><li>Successfully completes special projects and other assignments as required </li><li>Assist with managing lease databases, preparing lease abstracts, tracking critical dates, and generating lease reports </li></ul> <p>About You</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred </li><li>High School Diploma or GED and 2-5 years' experience required </li><li>Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and able to become proficient in other software, and data and matter management systems used by the legal department </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills to work with team members ranging from executive management to staff team members </li><li>2-3 years experience in lease administration or property management is preferred </li><li>Ability to manage, organize and summarize complex data </li><li>Must the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the company's internal and personnel affairs </li><li>Substantive knowledge of dispute resolution and laws and regulations, and legal research skills in order to effectively resolve problems and conflicts </li><li>Strong negotiation and decision-making skills to resolve claims and legal issues </li><li>Excellent interviewing and investigative skills and ability to manage, organize and summarize complex data. </li><li>Ability to explain legal terminology and obligations in understandable terms </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed </li><li>Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment </li><li>Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal </li><li>Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday </li><li>Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties </li></ul>
