SUMMARY OF JOB The Nursing Informatics Manager serves the business needs of the Homecare/Hospice organization by using all sources of information technology including, but not limited to, financial, health/outcomes, patient feedback and operational performance to drive performance improvement of HOMECARE/HOSPICE capabilities and its business objectives. The Nursing Informatics Manager is outcomes and results focused and designs processes using available data with the end goal in mind. The Nursing Informatics Manager studies, monitors and learns first hand all aspects of the principle operations of Homecare and Hospice work flows around billing, documentation, safety and experience. The primary goal is to collaborate with the operations management team and the clinicians to ensure HOMECARE/HOSPICE remains competitive within a fast evolving, consumer centric environment and supports the HRHS strategic vision. The Nursing Informatics Manager is a subject matter expert in Homecare Homebase electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management and billing (PM) tools and processes and leads the implementation process. This position collaborates with project managers, IT, finance, managers, coding and other internal experts as well as with HOMECARE/HOSPICE vendor partner(s) in order to facilitate effective processes. This position will provide supervision and support to the Super User group across the Division. This role will have strong oversight responsibilities related to the optimization and daily use of HCHB, reports and vendors that support operations. Additionally, this position will be responsible to produce, review and analyze data/reports and report trends and make recommendations to Leadership on-going. This position is responsible for problem solving, assessing processes and issues, collaborating with both Leadership and Clinicians to develop solutions resulting in efficient and functional workflow in the HOMECARE/HOSPICE practices. The Homecare/Hospice Nursing Informatics Manager partners with IT personnel to ensure prompt, consistent and effective design and testing workflow changes and processes. RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Demonstrated clinical expertise using HCHB and deep understanding of workflow and documentation Minimum of five (5) years directly related clinical experience, healthcare informatics or healthcare operations, including leadership, and/or education, required Strong analytical and statistical skills (both qualitative and quantitative) required Ability to work with data and technology to improve patient care and quality outcomes Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Excel PowerPoint, Word Familiarity with data and EMR software Familiarity with project management tools and programs Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships Experience with Best Practice Workflow and assessments Excellent communication, written and verbal, skills Strength in problem solving, analytics and critical thinking Proven ability to manage multiple project tasks and timelines Proven ability to lead others and come to a consensus on various issues Ability to effectively train and communicate with all levels of the organization Valid driver's license with current auto insurance Ability to travel to office locations throughout New Jersey in addition to home office in Northeast Philadelphia Possesses an enthusiastic and forward thinking approach to leadership and the ability to successfully influence and manage direct reports. Demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism and customer service at all times. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels including hospitals and the public. Strong knowledge of CMS, regulations, and protocols preferred. Excellent decision making and problem solving, analytical and numeracy skills. Has a proven track record in establishing and maintaining relationships to support collaboration and communication. Must be able to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult the Administrator, CAO and/or medical director. Able to function in a rapidly changing health care system which may necessitate flexible working hours, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
