<p>Please click here to apply!</p> <p>Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. One year of general record keeping or bookkeeping experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.</p> <p>License and Certifications: Selected applicant must obtain City of Norman's cash handling certificate within six (6) months of employment.</p> <p>Knowledge: Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and record management techniques. Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. Standard business arithmetic, operation of standard office equipment.</p> <p>Skills: Utilizing good interpersonal, written, and verbal skills. Researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of informational and statistical data and materials. Using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines. Analyzing and resolving situations and problems. Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction. Data entry at a rate of 150 k.p.m. net accuracy preferred. Efficient with 10-key and Microsoft Excel.</p> <p>Essential Functions: Collects monies owed the City of Norman through drive-through scale. Receives, sorts, records, completes receipts and tabulates monies. Maintains manual and/or computerized record keeping systems. Codes, enters, posts, tabulates, and retrieves data and reports. Generates, prepares, and proofs data, information, and reports. Maintains departmental billing files. Prepares deposit for departmental revenues. Answers the telephone. Provides the citizens with general information regarding department services. Provides friendly, courteous customer assistance when operating vehicle weight scales. Performs other related work as required.</p> <p>Mental and Physical Abilities: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail in a potentially noisy environment with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering telephone or speaking in person to citizens requiring assistance. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carryng light objects from 5% to 50% of work time, depending upon the specific assignment. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.</p> <p>Working Conditions: Works in a small office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather; some discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.</p> <p>Additional Information: Final candidates will undergo spelling, data entry, 10-key, and Microsoft Excel skills assessment. Selected applicant must pass a background investigation and drug screen.</p>
