<p>Job Title</p> <p>General Maintenance Worker</p> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for supporting daily operations and performing a wide range of facilities-related tasks. Reporting to the Site Services Manager, this role includes escorting vendors, conducting facility inspections, assisting with preventive maintenance, and performing general maintenance duties such as patching, painting, and light plumbing. Additional responsibilities include mail distribution, supply inventory management, front desk coverage, and day porter support. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform daily and periodic maintenance tasks as assigned across the facility. </li><li>Conduct safety inspections, including fire extinguishers, emergency showers and eyewash stations, ladders, and lifts. </li><li>Carry out general maintenance activities such as patching walls, painting, basic plumbing repairs, and light floor work. </li><li>Complete interior and exterior facility rounds twice daily to identify and address maintenance needs. </li><li>Escort external vendors and subcontractors throughout the facility as needed. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of janitorial closets and supply storage areas. </li><li>Ensure proper operation and maintenance of cleaning and maintenance equipment; report issues to management. </li><li>Restock janitorial supplies to maintain adequate levels across designated areas. </li><li>Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. </li><li>Support conference room setup and breakdown for meetings and events. </li><li>Assist with unloading and transporting supply deliveries. </li><li>Sort and deliver mail throughout the facility. </li><li>Cover front desk reception duties when required. </li><li>Participate in the onboarding and training of new staff, as directed. </li><li>Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and other operational concerns promptly to management. </li><li>Perform additional duties as required to support the needs of the facility. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to meet each essential duty effectively.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Post-secondary coursework or technical certification in a maintenance-related field preferred. </li><li>2-3 years of experience in a general maintenance or facilities role preferred. </li><li>Experience in a service-oriented or commercial/industrial environment is highly valued. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and CMMS systems. </li><li>Competent in using hand tools, small power tools, and maintenance-related equipment. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and work instructions. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. </li><li>Demonstrates high attention to detail, dependability, and professionalism. </li><li>Comfortable interacting with all levels of staff, vendors, and management. </li><li>Willingness to work overtime as needed and adapt to changing priorities. </li></ul> <p>Cushman & Wakefield also provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life, and disability insurance programs, and paid and unpaid time away from work.
