From the interview process to employee recognition, we make certain to incorporate our four values.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Part-time Conversions Supervisor at Barclays Center plays a key role in the seamless transition of all event setups and breakdowns as well as the overall well-being of the facility. This position will primarily work overnight shifts although these shifts will vary based on events. The Part-time Conversions Supervisor is expected to assist Operations Management in arena conversions by supervising all full-time and part-time union staff, including the completion of maintenance on dark days. This position will report directly to Operations Management and will support the highest level of operational efficiency.</p> <p>Key Attributes for Success</p> <p>To excel in this role, candidates must express a genuine passion for problem solving, a keen attention to detail, effective communication skills, a general knowledge of the conversions process as well as maintaining a positive work environment. Joining our team promises not only a fulfilling experience but also an opportunity to grow and contribute to Barclays Center's operational excellence.</p> <p>Operational Excellence:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures all event conversions are executed accurately and are completed in a safe, efficient, and timely matter. </li><li>Demonstrates passion, diligence, and integrity while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality. </li></ul> <p>Strong Teamwork Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Creates and encourages a motivated and well-respected team culture across union and non-union staff. </li><li>Integrates efficiently with NBA/WNBA teams, event promoters, and internal departments to accomplish shared goals. </li><li>Navigates stakeholder dynamics with procession and professionalism to ensure smooth operations. </li></ul> <p>Adaptability:</p> <ul> <li>Committed to working 150+ active arena conversions annually including weekends and holidays to maximize an extraordinary guest experience. </li><li>Able to successfully navigate unexpected challenges with calmness, flexibility, and a solution-oriented perspective. </li><li>Flourishes in a quick pace environment and can adjust to changing needs and requests to maintain efficient and seamless operations of events. </li></ul> <p>Endurance Beyond the Norm:</p> <ul> <li>Willing to work long hours when needed which include overnight and early morning shifts. </li><li>Being resilient to event needs and changes. </li></ul> <p>Proactive Problem-Solving:</p> <ul> <li>Proactive and takes initiative to resolve all operational issues that may arise. </li><li>Leads professionally and remains calm under pressure. </li></ul> <p>Meticulous Attention to Detail:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that all aspects of conversions are executed accurately to the highest standards and procedures. </li><li>Maintains a strong focus on precision and takes pride in the quality of all conversions and maintenance of all in-house equipment. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Oversees arena setup and breakdown for games, concerts, and special events. </li><li>Ensures timely conversions between event types (e.g., basketball to concert mode). </li><li>Supervises union conversion staff performing physical work (e.g., moving retractable seating, setting up stages, deploying signage). </li><li>Conducts pre- and post-event walkthroughs to ensure all systems and spaces meet quality standards. </li><li>Identifies and reports maintenance issues and coordinates with trades or engineering for resolution. </li><li>Helps maintain operational equipment (e.g., radios, carts, tools, rigging hardware). </li><li>Provides real-time coaching and direction during high-pressure situations </li><li>Assists with onboarding and training of new staff, ensuring safety and policy compliance. </li><li>Ability to work required shift(s) any day of the week. </li><li>Lift heavy weights, stand and move on your feet for long periods of time. </li><li>Follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. </li><li>Ability to train staff in basic functions of the job. </li><li>Provide leadership and guidance to staff. Serve as a mentor/coach to all Facilities crew members. </li><li>Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. </li><li>Effectively communicate escalated employee issues to Operations Management to resolve employee issues in a timely manner. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees at all levels. </li><li>Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task or another, without the loss of efficiency of composure. </li><li>Always follow all standard operating procedures </li><li>Maintain company confidentiality. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE PROFILE: Who You Are</p> <ul> <li>High school Diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Job related training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities preferred. </li><li>Working knowledge of basketball court, retractable seating, and chair set-ups for varied events. </li><li>Previous experience working in a similar sports/entertainment facility environment preferred. </li><li>Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment. </li><li>Ability to represent the Operations Department in an exemplary manner. </li><li>Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees & managers in other departments. </li><li>Ability to memorize, re-collect, and quickly retrieve relevant information. </li><li>Ability to perform in crisis and to work under pressure without the loss of composure. </li><li>Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation to and from the Barclays Center for scheduled shifts.
