<p>" Salary range: $31,096 - $39,416 (dependent upon prior relevant work experience)</p> <p>Per Board Policy, candidates can bring up to 10 years of relevant work experience toward their starting salary.</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION: Classified, non-exempt FLSA status</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Ability to be a positive and contributing member of a district level team Ability to manage diverse constituency groups including but not limited to: district personnel, retirees, insurance vendors, etc. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Knowledge and experience in health insurance/benefits and/or willingness to learn QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma and experience working in schools with benefits knowledge preferred</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>JOB GOALS: Serve as the district Benefits Specialist for the Union R-XI School District</p> <p>PERFORMANCE AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Educate and enroll employees and retirees in benefits programs Coordinate and communicate benefits/open enrollment Maintain employee insurance files Process and maintain reporting for ACA requirements Manage COBRA participants Manage and reconcile employee benefit related deductions and vendor billings Process and maintain employee leave (including FMLA), year-end leave, and payout information Manage and maintain employee leave information affecting payroll Manage all Family and Medical Leave Act related claims Manage workers' compensation claims. Report student injuries to insurance company and act as liaison Report liability claims to insurance company and act as liaison Manage Flex Plan and 403B retirement plan information Manage and process substitute teachers job assignments for payroll Process and maintain certified employee contracts Create and maintain teacher tenure list Manage and process teacher salary advancements Assist with human resource related matters Adhere to all district rules, regulations and policies Maintain confidentiality on all school related matters Perform other office duties as may be assigned TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 days per year (12 month position) 8 hours per day</p> <p>SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary set by the Board of Education - Board paid health insurance - Leave per Board policy</p> <p>EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board's policy and evaluation.</p> <p>PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Additionally, the employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 50 lbs as necessary for the safety and well-being of others.
