<p>Description</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION: Maintains and cleans all common areas of the building, both inside and outside, keeping them decent, safe, and sanitary.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains air conditioners by cleaning filters and condensers monthly. </li><li>Checks smoke detectors, emergency lights, and locks on fire exits to ensure that they are safe and operational monthly. </li><li>Change fuses, light bulbs, and ceiling tiles when required. </li><li>Unclogs drains, toilets, and sinks. </li><li>Uses a meter to measure UV lighting. </li><li>Assists in conducting fire drills. </li><li>Sets up chairs, podium, TV/VCR, microphone, and overhead projectors upon request. </li><li>Tags equipment of fixed assets as part of the inventory control program. </li><li>Cleans, sanitizes, mops, washes, and maintains common areas, including dining area, bathrooms (done daily), elevator, lobby, hallways, waiting areas, roof drains, and laundry rooms if applicable. </li><li>Empty and place trash in appropriate receptacles outside of the building on identified days. </li><li>Sweeps and cleans in front of the building. </li><li>Removes snow on snow days/storms and puts salt down to keep the area safe for building, building occupants, and the general public. </li><li>Replenishes toilet accessories and requests replacement accessories as needed. </li><li>Maintains the walls free of graffiti and cleans windows, walls, and other identified surfaces. </li><li>Assists tenants in moving belongings in and/or out of the building if applicable. </li><li>Assures residents' and staff safety while cleaning by posting appropriate signs. </li><li>Fills in for other Porters who are on vacation or out for the day. </li><li>Expected to be on site during emergencies as needed. </li></ul> <p>Performs other duties as requested or assigned</p> <p>SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-4PM</p> <p>RATE: $34,580 - $36,400 / year dep. on experience</p> <p>LOCATION: Bronx, NY</p> <p>We offer excellent benefits including:</p> <ul> <li>Generous time off that includes 4 weeks of vacation </li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance </li><li>Discounted Commuter benefits </li><li>Life insurance & Long term disability </li><li>Eligible for Federal Student Loan Repayment Program </li><li>Training and other additional voluntary benefits </li></ul> <p>To join our diverse team, please include salary requirements with your resume/application submission.</p> <p>Please visit us at www.lesc.org</p> <p>EEO Minorities/Women/Disabled/Vet</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>QUALIFICATION - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High School graduate, GED and/or Trade School Diploma, and 2 years Porter or equivalent experience. </li></ul>
