<p>Summary</p> <p>The Stage Check Airman position is responsible for evaluating students in accordance with training course outlines, FAA Airman Certification Standards and Practical Test Standards, and general operations procedures.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Ensuring operational safety and conformance to company, local, and FAA regulations and policies </li><li>Conducting Part 141 stage checks for approved courses in accordance with the current approved training course outline (TCO) </li><li>Provide detailed debriefings to instructors, team leaders, managers or other employees </li><li>Provide guidance to instructors regarding improvements to students' training </li><li>Maintain the quality (pass rate) of flight training at or above 80% through consistent and comprehensive </li><li>See that each assigned student is re-scheduled if a training delay occurs </li><li>Maintain accurate Talon records regarding evaluations </li><li>Conduct student training record audits </li><li>Ensure that the policies and procedures of the General Operations Manual are maintained </li><li>Assists the Manager of Flight Standards in developing training standards for training procedures </li><li>Assists the Manager of Flight Standards in the continuous development and improvement of the pilot </li><li>Submits required reports as directed </li><li>Works with the Manager of Flight Standards concerning issues related to pilot job performance issues </li><li>Additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Flight Standards </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates good judgment and confidentiality </li><li>Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service </li><li>Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills </li><li>Strong communication and ability to build relationships with all levels of management </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required </li><li>Active pursuit of undergraduate degree highly sought </li><li>Flight Instruction experience is highly preferred </li></ul> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</p> <ul> <li>Flight Instructor Certificate required </li><li>Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate required </li><li>FAA Class II Medical required </li><li>CFIA & CFII - MEI preferred </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <ul> <li>Overnight flights or night flights may be required </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>This position requires a person to stand or sit for a prolonged period, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, along with monitor engine operations of functioning, and communicate and coordinate vehicle or aircraft movement. This position also requires a person to maneuver an aircraft for extended periods of time in all various types of weather conditions.
