<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Coach/Vocational Counselor/Mentor</p> <p>What Makes Us Unique?</p> <p>Located in a large historic home, Options provides a warm, caring and healing environment that provides all the educational and clinical resources to help students grow and succeed.</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>Join our caring community of educators who are passionate about helping our special education students earn their diplomas, prepare for college, and learn competitive work and life skills. As a Vocational Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students develop work skills to prepare them for life after graduation. Staff work directly with students in a variety of community-based settings to assist the students developing competitive skills to meet academic / transitional / vocational goals.</p> <p>Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available!</p> <p>Duties</p> <ul> <li>Provide transportation and engagement in the learning process at community-based job sites, college, certificate programs and life skills settings. </li><li>Assume responsibility for implementation of Individualized Education Plans and Transition Plan goals, strategies, and reporting requirements. </li><li>Communicate with job site supervisors to understand the requirements of the job and work environment. </li><li>Assist the student in developing their soft skills, technical skills and social skills on community-based sites. </li><li>Model and teach proper workplace behaviors in interactions with the employer/community. </li><li>Actively participate and collaborate in Options interdisciplinary team process to develop in-depth understanding of students and develop opportunity, methods and interventions to promote learning. </li><li>Document daily data for the student's goals and all other forms of documentation as requested and needed. </li><li>Perform pre-trip safety checks of the student transport vehicles. </li><li>Actively provide a positive and helpful demeanor with coworkers and students. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>College degree preferred and/or industry related trainings or experience. </li><li>Experience working with students with disabilities </li><li>DMV License endorsement A or V preferred (or willingness to secure V endorsement) </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and team player. </li><li>Ability to be flexible and attend and perform on a variety of community-based sites. </li></ul> <p>Pay: $25.00 per hour.
