<p>Job Description:</p> <p>LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, is seeking a Special Education Supervisor to support our Programs and Schools. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate, systems-oriented professional committed to advancing inclusive, high-quality programming for students.</p> <p>As a key member of the Office of Student Support Services (SSS) leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping programming, building staff capacity, and ensuring student success through evidence-based practices and strong collaborative partnerships.</p> <p>Program Leadership & Innovation</p> <ul> <li>Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of specialized programs serving students with disabilities. </li><li>Evaluate program effectiveness and drive innovation in instructional practices and service delivery. </li><li>Support development and alignment of curriculum, materials, and methodologies. </li></ul> <p>Staff Development & Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Coach, support, and evaluate special education teachers, related service providers, and support staff. </li><li>Design and facilitate professional learning focused on evidence-based practices. </li><li>Build leadership capacity across programs through modeling and collaboration. </li></ul> <p>Student-Centered Systems & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure IEP implementation aligns with CT SDE standards and federal mandates. </li><li>Monitor program quality, data, and student progress. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of special education laws and best practices. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Partnerships</p> <ul> <li>Partner with LEAs and LEARN administrators to support PPT processes and student programming. </li><li>Provide consultation and training to general education staff. </li><li>Support systems such as MTSS and Section 504 implementation. </li></ul> <p>What You Bring:</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years of experience in special education or related services. </li><li>Deep expertise in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring. </li><li>Demonstrated success coaching and developing staff and programs. </li><li>Experience in elementary and/or early childhood settings (preferred). </li></ul> <p>Skills & Strengths</p> <ul> <li>Strong systems thinking and problem-solving abilities. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with staff, families, and districts. </li><li>High level of organization and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Education & Certification</p> <ul> <li>Valid certification in Special Education, School Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field. </li><li>Master's degree in an appropriate educational discipline. </li><li>Connecticut Administrator Certification required. </li></ul> <p>Why LEARN?</p> <p>At LEARN, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Work alongside a mission-driven leadership team. </li><li>Influence regional programming and inclusive practices across districts. </li><li>Engage in a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration. </li><li>Make a meaningful impact on students, families, and communities. </li></ul> <p>Qualified applicants should apply online at https://www.applitrack.com/learn/onlineapp/_application.aspx?starting=true.
