Check out the Pregis Purpose to learn how sustainability and social responsibility is at the very core of our company DNA.</p> <p>Job Title: QC Technician Nights</p> <p>Classification: Hourly</p> <p>6pm-6am 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule</p> <p>Summary of Job</p> <p>Under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager oversees packaging operations along with hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, while working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.</p> <p>Overview: The QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production. Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guiding workflow by monitoring packaging work force's quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps team operate at or above designated run speeds.</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per EverTec Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). </li><li>Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per EverTec quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed in collaboration with Team Lead and Shift Supervisor as needed. </li><li>Train Packers on EverTec Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed. </li><li>Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per EverTec QA SOPs. </li><li>Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays. </li><li>Help to identify raw material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager. </li></ul> <p>Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)</p> <ul> <li>Ability to take coaching well and interact respectfully with others </li><li>Promote a positive teamwork culture and champion company core values </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (Spanish bilingual a plus) </li><li>Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment </li><li>Ability to follow standardized work instructions </li><li>Ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions </li><li>Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations </li><li>Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality. </li><li>Ability to work Overtime as needed daily, or weekends based upon business needs. </li></ul> <p>Environment</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to moving equipment </li><li>Inside work </li><li>Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit </li><li>Humidity may exceed 80% </li><li>Noise may exceed 85dB+ </li><li>Personal Protective Equipment require </li></ul> <p>Physical Characteristics</p> <ul> <li>Frequent standing, stooping, sitting </li><li>Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 45 lbs.) </li><li>Occasional typing/keyboarding </li></ul> <p>Position Type</p> <ul> <li>Full time </li><li>Shift work </li><li>Overtime expected per business demand </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school education or equivalent technical school preferred </li><li>1 to 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment and/or inspection role preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of packaging production SOPs and Quality Standards a plus. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <p>The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package.
