We seek artist-performers and teachers with demonstrated ability to attract a large studio of students who value learning in an engaged, collaborative, and vibrant School culture.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach applied clarinet at all levels and in all degree programs; teach woodwind specific courses, coach chamber music; advise graduate students, recruit promising student musicians; </li><li>Build and maintain a national and international profile as performer and teacher; participate with the woodwind faculty in chamber music; and contribute broadly to the artistic and educational milieu of a major School of Music at a Research I, flagship university. </li><li>Provide service and participate in faculty governance </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education Level: A doctorate in clarinet performance </li><li>Degree Substitute: A doctorate in clarinet performance or equivalent professional experience </li><li>Specific Experience: Distinguished record as an active performer; demonstrated excellence in and commitment to teaching a broad range of students with diverse skill sets; and commitment to contributing broadly to the culture of the School of Music. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education Level: A doctorate in clarinet performance </li><li>Specific Experience: An additional area of expertise that extends one's influence; evidence of dispositions that foster relationship-building, creative problem-solving, and innovative opportunities. </li></ul> <p>LSU's College of Music and Dramatic Arts is a performing arts community that trains, cultivates, prepares, and rewards excellent artists, educators, scholars, and performers, fostering passion for the arts, collaboration, and the creation of new works. Degrees offered include the Ph.D. (with concentrations in composition, experimental music and digital media, music education, musicology, and music theory), DMA (concentrations in music performance and choral, orchestral, and wind conducting,), MM, BM, BME, and BA (Liberal Arts). LSU has a vibrant and collaborative media arts community.
