We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, EAS helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.</p> <p>The Internal Auditor - Lead Audit Manager, Financial Risk Management team member will be responsible for auditing control design and operating effectiveness for the processes within the Investment and Accounting areas. In addition, this role will perform continuous business monitoring and other special projects. Candidates are expected to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a commitment to high quality, timely results.</p> <p>Specific duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and conduct team-oriented, risk-based audit activities designed to identify business risks and evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes. </li><li>Monitor the risk profile within the Investment, Accounting and Treasury areas. </li><li>Perform fieldwork activities, including inquiry of clients, inspection of records and documents, and observations and re-performance of complex control procedures. Incorporates use of data analytics to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit. </li><li>Communicate audit results to senior team members and business line management, performs appropriate follow-up tasks. </li><li>Prepare drafts of Audit Reports, analyze basic control gaps and root causes to formulate potential remediation actions. </li><li>Participate in special projects as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Job Expectations: Travel: <5%</p> <p>Office Location and In Office Schedule: This position can be located in either our New York, NY; Charlotte, NC or Syracuse, NY offices. This team member will be working in the office on a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days in office per week.</p> <p>The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. For detailed descriptions of these benefits, please reference the link below.</p> <p>Equitable Pay and Benefits: Equitable Total Rewards Program</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree </li><li>10 years of audit or risk related experience executing audits. Experience can include public accounting, internal audit, Investment and/or working within business control functions, within industry. </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of audit and risk methodologies and supporting tools. </li><li>Experience working at an insurance company, financial institution and/or accounting firm. </li><li>Proven understanding of various insurance products and associated financial risks with focus on investment risks. </li><li>Understanding of statistical sampling, testing and the interpretation of results. </li><li>Demonstrated technology skills, including Microsoft Excel. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. </li><li>Proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important. </li><li>Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <p>Auditing: Knowledge of the organization's internal audit processes, practices and methods; ability to perform audits to ensure organizational compliance.</p> <p>Client Relationship Management: Knowledge of client relationship; ability to address issues critical issues to meet client needs and maintain engaged, partnering relationship with business partners and clients.</p> <p>Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.</p> <p>Insurance and Finance Concepts: Knowledge of financial risks with focus on investment risks within insurance industry; ability to apply finance, investment and accounting concepts and terminologies within insurance related practices.</p> <p>Internal Controls: Knowledge of concept, methods, and processes of internal control; ability to create, implement, evaluate and enhance processes in internal controls.</p> <p>ABOUT EQUITABLE</p> <p>At Equitable, we're a team committed to helping our clients secure their financial well-being so that they can pursue long and fulfilling lives.</p> <p>We turn challenges into opportunities by thinking, working, and leading differently - where everyone is a leader.
