Advocates for education accessibility, quality instruction, and inspires a student-first culture. Leads an environment in which integrity and ethics are the norm. Collaborate with the Division Dean, faculty, staff, and departments across the college to provide the resources, information, autonomy, and support needed to achieve results. Advance the image of the division and programs inside and outside of the College. Support and champion college initiatives, policies, and procedures. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):</p> <p>(45%) People Management</p> <ul> <li>Manage, and coach a diverse faculty/staff talent pool capable of achieving results. </li><li>Trust the judgment of others, delegating and giving latitude to exercise authority in their own areas of expertise. </li><li>Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication fostering open and respectful interaction. </li><li>Motivate faculty to incorporate contemporary adult learning theory into practice. </li><li>Maintain customer focus by tailoring message and style effectively communicating to internal and external customers. </li><li>Guide Advisory Committees and foster engagement. </li><li>Address staff and student issues in an effective and timely manner. </li></ul> <p>(30%) Resource Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Maintain state of industry-relevant labs and classrooms. </li><li>Analyze reports to effectively assign workload; manage personnel and non-personnel current expenses, and capital budgets, </li><li>Utilize a problem-solving and decision-making process which incorporates data, experience, and faculty and staff appropriately. </li><li>Manage open and transparent division-level financial processes and communication. </li><li>Seek resources from internal and external resources (e.g., Grants, donations) to meet division needs. </li><li>Assists with grant managing and reporting. </li><li>Assists with developing plan(s) and budget for department. </li></ul> <p>(25%) Strategic Division Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Engage faculty, staff, and stakeholders to create strategic division plans that align to the Academic Master, College Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan. </li><li>Create a culture in which breakthrough ideas are generated to create and improve programming, curriculum, and delivery and student success. </li><li>Measure division performance using quality and key performance indicators, monitors, reports and other available data. </li><li>Ensure that student learning is assessed, improved and effective through program review and continuous improvement processes (e.g., QRP, folder, academic maps, etc.) </li><li>Design student-focused schedules that optimize workload and classroom efficiencies. </li><li>Ensure program compliance with the Wisconsin Technical College System Board's and program accreditation standards. </li><li>Balance the achievement of day-to-day results with accomplishments of key college initiatives. </li></ul> <p>MANAGER ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the direction, coordination, supervision, and performance management of team members. </li><li>Set clear expectations by establishing roles, responsibilities and setting goals for team members. </li><li>Monitor and assess performance, hold team members accountable, and provide ongoing feedback. </li><li>Provide guidance and support through training, mentoring, and open communication. </li><li>Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the College's policies and procedures. </li><li>Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive college operations. </li><li>Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise in a timely manner. </li><li>Foster a positive and productive work environment encouraging teamwork and recognizing achievements. </li><li>Develop team members by identifying strengths, creating development plans, and offering growth opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline is required. </li><li>Six to seven years years of relevant occupational experience required, with experience in leadership and higher education strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction. </li><li>Familiarity with different leadership styles and techniques. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills. </li><li>Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills. </li><li>Strong critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Effective leadership and team building skills. </li></ul> <p>ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Adapt quickly to new and changing technology. </li><li>Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail. </li><li>Work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision. </li><li>Present self in a professional, ethical and respectful manner at all times. </li><li>Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. </li><li>Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students and all stakeholders. </li><li>Lead, inspire and motivate a team to achieve departmental and college goals. </li><li>Flexibility to adapt to and manage through changing environments. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. </li><li>The employee frequently is required to stand;
