<p>Mountainside Medical Center, in partnership with the Mountainside Medical Group, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our team in a part-time academic and clinical role. This position replaces a long-standing faculty member and is ideal for a well-trained surgeon passionate about both clinical care and resident education.</p> <p>Position Highlights</p> <ul> <li>Location: 1 Bay Avenue, Montclair, NJ </li><li>Schedule: 20-30 hours/month </li><li>Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient (primarily clinic-based) </li><li>Practice Environment: General dentistry residency clinic with 5 residents, supported by rotating OMS residents from a partnering program </li><li>Teaching: Required - includes both didactic and clinical supervision </li><li>Call: Limited; second call only (dental residents take first call); no in-house requirement </li><li>Weekend Requirement: None </li><li>EMR: Epic </li></ul> <p>Scope of Practice</p> <ul> <li>Be part of a residency-affiliated program with a supportive, collaborative culture </li><li>Full range of office-based OMS procedures (no general anesthesia; local and nitrous only) </li><li>2 full clinic days/month supervising residents </li><li>Management of dentoalveolar surgery, minor oral pathology, and consults </li><li>No maxillofacial trauma or significant infections - these are referred out </li><li>Practice in a well-equipped clinic with X-ray, CBCT, and procedure rooms on-site </li><li>Faculty appointment with the OMS residency program at St. Joseph's, as Mountainside is a formal rotation site </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>DDS or DMD with completion of an accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency </li><li>NJ Specialty Licensure in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery </li><li>BLS and ACLS certified </li><li>Strong proficiency in dentoalveolar procedures </li><li>Board Certified or Eligible (ABOMS) </li><li>Demonstrated experience or interest in teaching and clinical instruction </li><li>A commitment to a hybrid career that combines patient care with academic involvement </li></ul> <p>Salary starting at $160 per hour</p> <p>Recruitment Package may include:</p> <ul> <li>Base salary + wRVU production incentive </li><li>CME allowance </li><li>Sign-on bonus </li><li>Medical debt assistance + Consultative services by Navigate Student Loans </li><li>Relocation allowance </li><li>Residency stipend </li><li>Paid malpractice coverage </li><li>Learn more about the benefits offered for this job </li><li>Marketing + practice growth assistance </li></ul> <p>About Mountainside Medical Center</p> <p>Mountainside Medical Center is a 365-bed acute care hospital in Montclair, NJ, proudly affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health.
