<p>The Data Governance Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the university's Data Governance Program. This program encompasses administrative data across WSU, including student records, IT, human resources, advancement, alumni, and financial data. The role requires university-wide engagement, building connections across schools, divisions, and departments to promote shared understanding and effective use of WSU's data assets. This position supports the coordination, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the data governance framework, with an emphasis on data integrity, quality, protection, and overall management. The Data Governance Manager collaborates closely with stakeholders to ensure adherence to data governance standards, develop and implement data management policies, and support initiatives aligned with the university's strategic goals. The role also serves as a point person for data governance processes, best practices, implementation, and ongoing administration.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience </li><li>Two years of full-time job-related experience </li><li>Experience with business intelligence and analytics </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to pursue relevant data governance training or certifications, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Data Professional (CDP), Data Governance Stewardship Professional (DGSP), or Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP). </li><li>Familiarity with data management concepts (e.g., data quality, data stewardship, data classification, metadata management) and a willingness to deepen understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements. </li><li>Experience writing technical documentation, standards, or data-related policies. </li><li>Experience in project management, including the ability to contribute to or help lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate beyond direct reporting lines. </li><li>Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a desire to engage across a variety of campus roles and administrative levels. </li><li>Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable in navigating dynamic environments. </li></ul> <p>A successful candidate will be willing to Background Check? The final FTE of the position will be determined based on organizational need and candidate availability.
