<p>The Operations Assistant will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Serving as a liaison to Engineering, Environmental Services, Health Technology Management, Materials Management, Safety, and other departments as needed to resolve equipment, supply, safety, compliance, operational, and cleaning issues. </li></ul> <p>Regulatory, Safety, and Compliance:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in safety huddles and Engineering/Safety/ESD rounds for compliance. </li><li>Monitors environment to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, including JCAHO. </li><li>Conducts weekly audits (e.g., eye wash stations) and organizes storage areas and equipment. </li><li>Coordinates safety inspections and works with Safety personnel for proper supply storage. </li><li>Ensures annual safety inspections of electrical equipment. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Management:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates with staff to address and resolve equipment needs and issues. </li><li>Maintains and manages equipment and furniture inventory, ensuring all items are functional. </li><li>Keeps an accurate record of medical equipment details, collaborating with Health Technology Management for issue resolution. </li><li>Conducts equipment inventory, tags items needing repair, and ensures timely cleaning and stocking of supplies. </li></ul> <p>Administrative and Patient Experience Rep:</p> <ul> <li>Handles phone calls and assists with information requests. </li><li>Greets and directs patients and visitors, optimizing patient flow and resource use. </li><li>Uses systems like ALICE, EPIC/Prelude ADT for managing patient information and requests. </li><li>Coordinates with departments for clinical/administrative services and collects medical records. </li><li>Performs routine administrative tasks and organizes department events and meetings. </li></ul> <p>To qualify, you must have:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>One year of customer service, administrative, or experience in a health care setting. </li><li>Basic knowledge of clinical, operational, safety, and compliance needs of the units/departments. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply safety and compliance guidelines. </li><li>Basic critical thinking skills for problem resolution using sound judgment and appropriate escalation. </li><li>Skilled at providing effective customer service to support departmental and hospital operations. </li><li>Ability to appropriately respond to sensitive or urgent situations. </li><li>Proficiency in managing data within medical systems such as ALICE, EPIC/Prelude ADT, Bed Management, I Need It, etc. </li><li>Ability to promote and demonstrate teamwork. </li></ul> <p>Boston Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.</p>
