<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff/Education Assistant</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/29/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Great Lakes Elementary School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/21/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Notice of Support Staff Posting</p> <p>Position: Educational Assistant Posting # 3814</p> <ul> <li>Great Lakes Elementary </li></ul> <p>Posting Dates: April 9, 2025 - Until Filled</p> <p>Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Beginning: August 21, 2025</p> <p>Hours: 29.5 hours per week</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>School Year/Part-time</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supporting teacher:</p> </li><li> <p>Assists teacher with everyday tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with parents and students in communicating information from and/or to the teacher</p> </li><li> <p>Help create a safe and inviting environment</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the supervision of students</p> </li><li> <p>Instructional Assistant:</p> </li><li> <p>Work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with cooperative work groups and assist with who group instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Provide immediate feedback to students concerning their learning as directed</p> </li><li> <p>Care of and create materials for classroom use</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with non-instructional classroom duties; i.e. snacks, clothing, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Playground Responsibilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises students at play-time on the playground and maintains a harmonious atmosphere on the playground</p> </li><li> <p>Follows prescribed disciplinary procedures used in the classroom and building</p> </li><li> <p>Directs and supervises movement of groups to and from the playground</p> </li><li> <p>Cares for and inspects playground equipment to ensure safety</p> </li><li> <p>Performs any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the building principal and/or the teacher</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Accountability:</p> </li><li> <p>Under the direction of and reports to the Building Principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Essential Functions, Scope:</p> </li><li> <p>To assist principal, teacher, peers and students to support quality instruction and to provide a safe, caring and enjoyable learning environment with individual students or small groups to help them achieve success</p> </li><li> <p>Training/Education Requirements:</p> </li><li> <p>High School diploma</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess computer skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. </li><li>Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. </li><li>Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. </li><li>Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. </li><li>Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. </li><li>Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. </li><li>The worker is subject to environmental conditions. </li><li>The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance. </li></ul>
