<p>Stamford Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic cardiothoracic surgery team in a per diem capacity. This position is focused on managing patients in the ICU and on the floors, with no required operating room responsibilities.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have significant post-operative cardiothoracic ICU experience, with a strong understanding of managing complex post-surgical patients, including those requiring advanced hemodynamic support. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled surgical and critical care team while maintaining flexibility with a per diem schedule.</p> <p>Schedule: Per Diem, 12 hour and 24 hour shifts. Per diem commitment is approximately 24 hours per month. Department is 24/7 operational, weekends included.</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive post-operative care to cardiothoracic surgery patients in the ICU and step-down units </li><li>Perform admissions, discharges, daily rounds, and documentation </li><li>Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition </li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary care planning </li><li>Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Connecticut </li><li>NCCPA certification required </li><li>BLS and ACLS certification required </li><li>Minimum four years' experience in cardiac surgery with intensive care post op management. </li><li>OR experience is not required but preferred. </li><li>Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting </li><li>Experience with chest tube management, temporary pacing, and common post-op complications </li><li>Epic EMR proficiency </li></ul>
