<p>Location: Berwick, PA</p> <p>Hourly rate:$ 19.89 3rd Shift: 12am/Midnight-8am-{TRAINING is on first shift: 8am-4pm}</p> <p>Wise Snacks is seeking a Wastewater Utility Worker. You will be responsible for monitoring and operating several systems that remove solids, starch recovery and oil/water separation before the water is released from the facility.</p> <p>Areas of Responsibility:</p> <ul> <li>Operate filter press unit for solids separation. The operator will pump, condition wastewater and empty the separated solids. </li><li>Lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, using ferric chloride, lime for conditioning. Light maintenance to include cleaning and changing separation cloths is also required. </li><li>Operate starch removal system. The operator will operate, clean and monitor the starch removal system. Cleaning of the system will include the use of chlorinizers and acids. </li><li>Operate Water/Oil Separation system. The operator will operate monitor and clean the separation system. This will include cleaning screens, baskets and tanks. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>Physical</p> <ul> <li>Lifting objects up to 50 pounds unassisted. </li><li>Monitoring and recording readings and data. </li><li>Performing job functions with limited direct supervision. </li></ul> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Use of all personal protective equipment (PPE) to include face shield, glasses and gloves is required when working with any materials known to be </li><li>hazardous or irritants </li></ul> <p>Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Understand and comply with all GMP and Food Safety Requirements when entering and performing any tasks within the plant areas </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School or GED. </li><li>Valid Drivers' License </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Trade School Experience </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand and move for long periods of time </li><li>Ability to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. frequently </li><li>Ability to work in hot and cold environments </li><li>Ability to work with chemicals </li><li>Mobility and movements - frequent ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, reach outwards and upwards, grasp and twist wrists </li></ul>
