<p>TITLE: SECURITY AIDES</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Minimum of high school degree required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work well with students of varying ages.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work well with professional teaching and administrative staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Good communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience working in a school setting, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention and crowd control helpful.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain order and remain calm in a crisis.</p> </li><li> <p>A record of excellent job related attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Pass mandatory pre-employment physical, including any required drug screening.</p> </li><li> <p>Pass mandatory criminal history screening in accordance with 18A:6-7.1.</p> </li><li> <p>Some basic computer skills required; procicient Google Office Office suite helpful.</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.</p> </li></ol> <p>REPORTS TO: District Safety & Security Specialist and the School Principal</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To support administration in providing a safe learning environment</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Report to the School Administration at the beginning of the school day and at any other such times as may be directed by them.</p> </li><li> <p>Patrol the corridors at all times unless otherwise directed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the professional staff in maintaining order in the cafeteria during lunch periods.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the lavatories and locker rooms to ensure the privacy and safety of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the general overall supervision of large group meetings, such as class meetings, assemblies, pep rallies, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the removal of trespassers and incorrigible students.</p> </li><li> <p>Check visitors in the building at all times for proper credentials.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist administrators in carrying out rules and regulations when requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Alert administrators when suspicious about concealed or potentially lethal or dangerous objects, materials, substances or weapons and possibly apprehend them if necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in general supervision during safety drills.</p> </li><li> <p>Routinely patrol all school grounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the administration to ensure the safety and welfare of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Check students' hall passes intermittently.</p> </li><li> <p>Check restrooms regularly.</p> </li><li> <p>Check and monitor student locker rooms as assigned by principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Help teachers and administrators in their execution of rules and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>In the event of authorized large group sessions, Security Aides are to remain very visible and in an assistance-supervisory role.</p> </li></ol> <p>SALARY & BENEFITS: Penns Grove- Carneys Point Regional Teacher Negotiated Agreement</p> <p>ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $26,858 - $30,088</p> <p>BENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDES: Medical, prescription, and optional dental insurance</p> <p>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</p> <p>Optional Disability Insurance (AFLAC, Prudential, and American General)</p> <p>Pre-Tax Deduction Options</p> <p>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</p>
