<p>The Church History Museum is hiring for a full-time intern for the summer (June - August). This position will support the preservation and safe handling of artifacts by constructing archival housing for exhibition materials ahead of deinstallation.</p> <p>This position will be responsible for the housing and movement of collections for the Church History Museum.</p> <p>Housing-The Position will also be responsible for building appropriate archival housing for artifacts in exhibits ahead of deinstallation. The intern will also work with the crating specialist to finalize internal finishes and support for crates.</p> <p>Movement of Collections-Upon completion of housing, the collections will need to be temporarily stored until use. This position will require carts, lifts, and pallet jacks to move crates and pallets to storage areas throughout the museum.</p> <ul> <li>Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. </li><li>Must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter. </li><li>Experience working with historical collections. </li><li>Ability to use standard computer software and write legibly. </li><li>Able to lift loaded archival boxes, be able to work in environments containing a modest amount of dust, be able to work in occasionally cool or warm temperatures. </li><li>Able to lift 40 pounds. </li><li>Able to provide regular oral progress reports and produce an overview report of work done at the end of the project. </li><li>Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Pro-active problem-solver, eager to contribute, creative thinker, uninhibited and willing to share ideas and participate in discussions; detail-oriented. </li></ul>
