Masters/Ph.D. preferred. </li><li>2+ years of professional software engineering experience </li><li>Experience in UI / UX development </li><li>Care about user friendliness, and focus on user experience </li><li>Knowledge on modern UI libraries like React. </li><li>Familiarity with multiple programming languages, e.g. JavaScript, Go, Java </li><li>Full-stack infrastructure knowledge. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to gather requirements and draft detailed design documents. </li></ul> <p>---- Preferred Qualifications ----</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of professional software engineering experience </li><li>Excellent coding skills with a high bar for quality and scalability </li><li>Understanding of distributed systems and a good understanding of its fundamentals </li><li>Familiarity with Kafka, ElasticSearch, key-value stores (e.g. Cassandra), metrics collection systems like Prometheus </li><li>Experience with Thrift, gRPC, protobuf </li></ul> <p>For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.</p> <p>For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.</p> <p>For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
