Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 - 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.</p> <p>Why We Do This Work:</p> <p>The Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 has set an ambitious agenda for change, guided by the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels and academic gaps can and will be eliminated with the support of teachers who deliver engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous instruction that excites students and instills a love of learning in them.</p> <p>The Seasonal Grounds Maintenance crew is directly responsible to the Director of Operations and/or his designee.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>General Duties:</p> <ul> <li>To maintain grounds and to repair work on grounds as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or his designee; </li><li>To be responsible for planning, scheduling, follow-up and layout of all work for unskilled workers assigned to grounds work. </li></ul> <p>Specific Duties:</p> <ul> <li>To operate and maintain tractors and grass cutting equipment; </li><li>To maintain hand and electric tools; </li><li>To use safety procedures when using tools and equipment on jobs; </li><li>To plant trees, bushes, and flowers; </li><li>To maintain school fields; </li><li>To perform custodial work as assigned; </li><li>To perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or his designee. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must have valid drivers license; </li><li>Must be in good health and able to perform all jobs assigned; </li><li>Must be able to climb and adjust to heights; </li><li>Be able to understand written and oral instructions; </li><li>Have knowledge of tractors, such as starters, generators, tires, lights, and all related components; </li><li>Knowledge of sprayers, line markers, mowers, aerators, vacuums, spreaders, measuring tapes and all grounds equipment; </li><li>Must be able to work harmoniously with others; </li><li>Crew chiefs and night custodians can only apply. </li></ul> <p>Salary: Salary Structure</p> <p>Additional Information: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.</p> <p>Application Deadline: Candidates must submit an online application to be received by closing date.</p> <p>FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY</p> <p>Only online applications will be considered</p> <p>Apply: www.wps60.org</p> <p>Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 offers employment opportunities without regard to age, gender, race, color, national origin,</p> <p>religion, marital or military/veteran status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, parental status, genetics or disability.</p>
