<p>In Search of: YMCA Summer Day Camp Coordinator</p> <p>This summer job at the Y gives you opportunities to explore youth development career pathways with an organization that is invested in helping you reach your potential, all while spending your days impacting the lives of children, leading a staff team, and making a positive impact in your community!</p> <p>Pay Rate: $15.65/hour</p> <p>Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM</p> <p>Availability: May through August for both training and work hours</p> <p>Who Are We Looking For? Individuals who will...</p> <ul> <li>Directly supervise Summer Day Camp programming for youth in grades K to 8, serving approximately 100 campers at the Lake YMCA. </li><li>Lead and support a Summer Day Camp staff team while actively working alongside staff and campers each day, remaining engaged in programming and in ratio as needed. </li><li>Plan, participate in, and lead recreational activities with campers including arts and crafts, sports, STEM, songs, nature hikes, games, and enrichment activities. </li><li>Serve as the day-to-day program leader by modeling expectations, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards in camper engagement, behavior management, safety, and overall program quality. </li><li>Cultivate positive relationships with families, school staff, and campers through strong communication, professionalism, newsletters, and consistent parent communication. </li><li>Support administrative functions including attendance, documentation, staff communication, scheduling support, organized paperwork, and maintaining accurate program records using tools such as Excel and Bloomz. </li><li>Promote the six pillars of character (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship) through personal actions and intentional activities. </li><li>Enjoy being of service to others and knowing that the work you do contributes to building a better community. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>At least 18 years old and a high school graduate </li><li>Associate degree or higher in education or a related field preferred, or CPL Level 3 or higher </li><li>Ability to pass a background check </li><li>Previous experience working with school-age children and leading staff </li><li>Strong administrative and organizational skills, including Excel, Bloomz, newsletters, parent communication, and detail-oriented paperwork management </li><li>Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable in a role where every day looks a little different </li><li>Ability to work on your feet for more than 3 hours at a time, often outdoors </li></ul>
