<p>SALARY</p> <p>Commensurate with certification/licensure and experience based on the Wicomico County Salary Schedule for Teachers.</p> <p>Includes benefits package.</p> <p>HOURS</p> <p>Full time 10-month position (190 contract days).</p> <p>FLSA: Exempt</p> <p>Contract Unit: This position is part of Unit I (Certificated) bargaining unit.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Valid Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate/license with an ESOL endorsement.</p> <p>Master's Degree preferred, but not required.</p> <p>At least 5 years of satisfactory classroom experience.</p> <p>Evidence of successful professional development leadership experience.</p> <p>Knowledge of multiple perspectives on multi-cultural education.</p> <p>Experience with various technology platforms.</p> <p>Evidence of leadership and personal qualities necessary to work effectively with students, parents, and administrators.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Provide coach support by modeling strategies and planning with teachers to increase student achievement for identified Multilingual Learners (MLs).</p> <p>Make recommendations to classroom teachers about the types of accommodations, adaptations, special resources, courses, classes and classroom adjustments that are required for each identified Multilingual Learner (ML).</p> <p>Provide instructional resources for classroom teachers that can be utilized with identified MLs.</p> <p>Analyze multiple data sources at the school and district level and communicate results to stakeholders to inform instruction.</p> <p>Assist teachers and school leadership teams in analyzing and utilizing a variety of assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction.</p> <p>Serve as a second language specialist by maintaining a high knowledge base of the latest issues, research, laws, and most effective practices in the field.</p> <p>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of content-area standards in order to assist classroom teachers working with identified MLs.</p> <p>Maintain on-going communication with all teachers of identified MLs and maintain a positive, nurturing, collaborative, and consultative-type relationship.</p> <p>Plan, deliver, and evaluate needs based professional development activities at the school and district levels.</p> <p>Support professional learning communities, teacher collaboration initiatives, and curriculum integration.</p> <p>Develop district level curricular resources aligned with both WIDA and Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.</p> <p>Use technology to support/enhance instructional activities and professional development opportunities.</p> <p>Implement all the procedures of the ESOL program as prescribed by MSDE and WCBOE.</p> <p>Expand knowledge and skills through professional reading, conferences, etc.</p> <p>Other related duties as assigned.</p>
