<p>We're seeking a detail-oriented Tooling Engineer to lead tooling development, documentation, and continuous improvement within our advanced manufacturing operation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and knows that strong tooling is the foundation of consistent product quality and efficiency.</p> <p>As a key technical contributor, you'll plan, develop, and support complex tooling systems, while producing clear, high-quality documentation that ensures alignment across engineering, production, and quality teams.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>Tooling Development & Optimization</p> <ul> <li> <p>Plan and execute tooling improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, tool life, and quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze tooling wear, failures, and performance trends; implement data-driven corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate on flow simulations and design reviews to ensure optimal castability and tool maintainability.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage tooling transfers, track lead times, and maintain tooling readiness for all production needs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Technical Writing & Documentation</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create and maintain detailed tooling manuals, SOPs, and technical work instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Document tooling changes, performance history, and preventive maintenance plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret CMM reports and incorporate findings into process documentation and corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate tooling expectations and updates clearly across departments and vendors.</p> </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional Collaboration</p> <ul> <li> <p>Act as the tooling lead for new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet project timelines and technical requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Support quality initiatives including PPAP submissions and APQP activities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Must-Have):</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent experience.</p> </li><li> <p>2-3+ years of hands-on experience with tooling in a manufacturing environment (die casting preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in reading technical drawings, interpreting GD&T, and analyzing dimensional data.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong technical writing skills and a meticulous approach to documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with process improvement tools and basic statistical analysis.</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Competencies:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Tooling Expertise - Deep understanding of tooling function, wear mechanisms, and integration into manufacturing systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Technical Communication - Clear, concise, and structured technical writing that enables others to execute with confidence.</p> </li><li> <p>Problem Solving - Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Cross-Team Collaboration - Ability to work with engineering, production, and quality teams to align goals and drive results.</p> </li></ul> <p>After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
