Right Here.</p> <p>Job Type:</p> <p>Temporary</p> <p>Scheduled Hours:</p> <p>0</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff; and to interact with people, with an emphasis on professional service and customer relations. This position works closely with staff, local law enforcement, and other government agencies.</p> <p>Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Patrol Activity:</p> <ul> <li>Pro-actively patrol the campus to prevent/detect acts of theft, criminal mischief, violence and other unsafe acts and conditions in order to provide a safe environment for all to interact. </li></ul> <p>Operations Center:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor activity via closed circuit television and monitor the various alarm systems that terminate within security. Effectively handle radio and telephone communications. </li></ul> <p>Customer Relations:</p> <ul> <li>Provide way-finding and general assistance for patients and visitors during the course of routine security duties. Individual must have the ability to relate to customers, provide clear communications in a courteous, professional manner, and offer assistance whenever necessary. </li></ul> <p>Documentation and Reporting:</p> <ul> <li>Complete case reports, maintenance logs, the daily blotter and any other necessary documentation in a professional manner. Review Roll Call, emails, and other pertinent information on a daily basis. </li><li>Ability to use photographic documentation to supplement written reports when appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Training:</p> <ul> <li>Successfully complete all mandatory training required by the department. </li><li>Successfully complete all additional training requested by the Director. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education, Credentials, Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in lieu of experience </li><li> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license and must be insurable by the Hospital insurance carrier </li></ul> </li></ul> <p>Specialized Knowledge:</p> <p>Good written and verbal skills, human relations/customer service skills, and computer data entry skills</p> <p>Kind and Length of Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in law enforcement/security or equivalent experience preferred </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Right Career.
