This role involves assessing financial and operational controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance organizational efficiency and mitigate risks. The Senior Internal Auditor collaborates with cross-functional teams and reports findings to senior management.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan and conduct risk-based audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes, including loan operations, deposit activities, fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and regulatory compliance. </li><li>Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures to identify areas of risk or non-compliance. </li><li>Prepare detailed audit programs, including scope, objectives, and testing methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., IIA, COSO). </li><li>Perform data analysis and review financial records to identify discrepancies, fraud risks, or inefficiencies. </li><li>Document audit findings, draft comprehensive reports, and present recommendations to management and the Audit Committee. </li><li>Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken. </li><li>Stay current on regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks (e.g., cybersecurity, ESG compliance) to inform audit strategies. </li><li>Collaborate with external auditors and regulators during examinations or audits, as needed. </li><li>Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan based on risk assessments and organizational priorities. </li><li>Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. </li><li>Advanced degree or relevant certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent is strongly preferred. </li><li>3+ years of experience in internal audit, preferably within a financial institution or regulated industry. </li><li>Strong knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., FDIC, NCUA, CFPB), financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and risk management frameworks. </li><li>Knowledge of GRC software (e.g., TeamMate+, AuditBoard, Quantivate, Diligent), data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly desirable. </li></ul> <p>Physical Activities/Requirements</p> <ul> <li>This role is based out of our Dublin HQ </li></ul> <p>Target Base Pay</p> <p>$100,966 - $126,211 per year</p> <p>Compensation at Patelco</p> <p>Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
