Click here for more information on compensation for these roles. </li><li>In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as; time off, health and wellness benefits, and PERA Retirement. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>L1 (Apprentice) Under the direction L2 or L3 technicians: Assists with and or performs all functions of the L2 (Journeyman) and L3 (Master or Multi-Skilled) level position. </li><li>Communicates and coordinates with staff at work site. </li><li>Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others, and disposes of waste and flammable materials. </li><li>Performs District landscape and arboreal management and maintenance according to International Society of Arboricultural standards. </li><li>Prunes, shapes, removes, trims branches for trees, shrub, and landscape health management and preservation. </li><li>Removes and grinds stumps using stump grinder and related safety equipment. </li><li>Plants and maintains plant beds. Identifies landscape pests, diseases and weeds, performs control measures or refers to appropriate entity. </li><li>Measures and marks athletic fields for DPS athletic events. Supervises planting activities by community groups. </li><li>Reviews work orders, prioritizes, and determine supplies for repair and purchases supplies using District purchase order system. </li><li>Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice. </li><li>Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis. </li><li>Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>2+ years of experience </li><li>Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.
