Part Time Shift Variable Work Schedule Summary</p> <p>This is a non-benefitted summer position in which it is required to live-on-campus. This position begins May 12, 2025.</p> <p>Days and hours will vary depending on conference groups' schedules. We are a 24/7 day operation.</p> <p>Is this a work study job? No VP Area President Department 01115 - Guest House Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $13.00 Close Date 07/31/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>Summer Conference Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day conference operations of the University of Utah. This includes establishing working relationships with community partners as well as working with a team of coordinators to facilitate groups staying on campus throughout the summer. This is a live-in, temporary position during the summer months only (anticipated summer dates are May 12, 2025 through August 2nd, 2025). The position requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Summer Conference Coordinators report directly to the Assistant Director of Summer Conferences. This position requires on-call duty as well as evening and weekend work.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Attend one week of mandatory training beginning May 12, 2025 </li><li>Attend mandatory weekly meetings every Tuesday at 2:00 pm. </li><li>Provide customer service to all conference guests and summer students; this includes serving as a contact/troubleshooter for all guests. </li><li>Work desk shifts at the Summer Conference Guest Services Desks. </li><li>Assist with summer lockouts between the hours of 6 AM and 12 AM when at the desk. </li><li>Handle overnight lockouts during assigned duty shifts. </li><li>Respond to maintenance needs, communicating with Maintenance Team. </li><li>Assign guest's rooms and prepare check in packets. </li><li>Communicate housekeeping needs and concerns with the custodial supervisor. </li><li>Communicate with Dining Services to understand groups' expectations. </li><li>Establish a relationship with the Client/Meeting Planner prior to arrival. </li><li>Facilitate and assist with on-site check in/out for assigned conferences. </li><li>Use StarRez program to accurately reflect guests in the residence halls. </li><li>Responsible for billing accuracy. </li><li>Answer all work-related calls in a timely manner. (Phone will be provided by Summer Conferencing.) </li><li>Check and respond to all emails, phone calls, or Teams. (Work email will be provided) </li><li>Required to follow all University, Department, and HRE Residential policies. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Successful applicants will be detail-oriented, professional, and technologically adept. Candidates must have experience in customer service, problem solving, effective communication, and critical thinking skills. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions outlined below. Candidates must have experience living in student housing at the University of Utah.
