Think that's cool? Keep reading:</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the</p> <p>negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of</p> <p>contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.</p> <p>This position is direct support to Ship Program Manager, responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance of ships under construction. This position will reside in production areas and must be able to manage and interact with production and support organization management teams on shipboard matters on a daily basis.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of shipyard professional experience; OR Master's Degree and 6 years of shipyard professional experience OR a combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge of DDG51 class ships and production processes at HII. Knowledge of DDG51 class ship systems. Project / program management experience.</p> <p>Risk and opportunity management experience. Cost and schedule management experience. Strong customer relations, for both internal and external customers.</p> <p>Technical problem solving ability. Material / logistics management.
