<p>IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT</p> <p>HIGH SCHOOL CASHIER</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>JOB TITLE: High School Cashier</p> <p>WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt</p> <p>FUNDING SOURCE: Local</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>PAY GRADE: Paraprofessional 050 (193 Days)</p> <p>DATE REVISED: May, 2001</p> <p>PRIMARY PURPOSE: Maintain accurate records of agency and campus accounts; Provide receipts,</p> <p>balances, checks, deposits, etc. to clubs and organizations on a regular basis</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of general office equipment </li><li>Knowledge of basic accounting principles </li><li>Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to operate computer using a variety of basic applications </li></ul> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>One (1) year of accounting/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background</p> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</p> <ol> <li>Receive all moneys from teachers for student fees, club dues, fund raisers, etc. and issue </li></ol> <p>receipts for such funds, keep accurate record of funds received and make appropriate</p> <p>deposit slips</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Make deposits in appropriate fund accounts following district procedures in order to </li></ol> <p>maintain accurate and current records</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Process Activity Account requests for checks/funds, payment of invoices, or issuance of </li></ol> <p>purchase orders with appropriate authorization and following district procedures;</p> <p>maintain accurate backup files</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Maintain official records of club sponsors, club officers, club rosters, and all approved </li></ol> <p>fund-raisers</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Report all donations, whether monetary or non-monetary, to Assistant Superintendent of </li></ol> <p>Support Services following district procedures</p> <p>High School Cashier - 2</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Manage funds and/or bookkeeping tasks associated with student/teacher parking, vending </li></ol> <p>machines, tickets, change, stamps, and other campus functions/activities</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Prepare monthly sales tax reports and other reports as required</p> </li><li> <p>Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Remain informed of and comply with state, district, and local policies and regulations</p> </li></ol> <p>concerning job functions</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:</p> <p>Maintain emotional control under stress</p> <p>Repetitive hand motions</p> <p>Prolonged use of computer</p> <p>Continuous sitting</p> <p>Work with frequent interruptions</p> <p>Occasional in-district travel</p> <p>Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and</p> <p>District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal</p> <p>protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and</p> <p>being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.</p> <p>The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the Americans with</p> <p>Disabilities Act (ADA) and foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities</p> <p>assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may</p> <p>be required.
