Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Serves as the Chief of Mental Health Services. </li><li>Designs, implements and directs the crisis intervention services for the Department including the development of suicide evaluation and prevention programs. </li><li>Serves as full line supervisor. </li><li>Serves as spokesperson on matters relating to Mental Health Services on behalf of the Department. </li><li>Serves as a clinical expert and advisor to administrative staff regarding the provision of psychological services. </li><li>Recruits, trains and provides professional development for mental health and clinical service staff in institutions. </li><li>Designs in-service training and special workshops for the professional development and stimulation of clinical staff. </li><li>Reviews appropriate budgetary proposals, develops budgets effecting services statewide that effect appropriate staffing patterns for provisions of psychological services with recommendations to the appropriate executive staff and Director as to service and resources needed. </li><li>Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a doctoral degree in psychology from a recognized college or university. </li><li>Five (5) years of professional experience in psychology. </li><li>Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prefers at least five (5) years of professional experience providing mental health services in a correctional healthcare setting. </li><li>Prefers at least five (5) years of professional supervisory and/or managerial experience of mentalhealth care teams in a correctional health care setting. </li><li>Prefers at least ten (10) years of professional experience utilizing the theories and assumptions underlying the field of psychology. </li><li>Prefers at least ten (10) years of professional experience in the application of psychology to social and emotional deviation, mental disease and rehabilitation of adults. </li><li>Prefers at least ten (10) years of professional experience utilizing techniques, methods and principles followed in clinical psychology. </li><li>Prefers at least five (5) years of professional experience in the design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of mental health quality improvement data collection. </li><li>Prefers at least five (5) years of professional experience in the development of Mental/Behavioral Health care treatment protocols and/or processes. </li><li>Prefers at least three (3) years providing legislative or judicial testimony in forensic psychiatry. </li><li>Prefers at least five (5) years professional Clinical and Administrative Supervision of staff (inclusive of varying degree credential levels). </li><li>Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience providing staff training development related to mental/behavioral health, wellness, effective communication. </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <ul> <li>Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check. </li><li>Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited. </li><li>Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. </li><li>Requires appropriate, valid driver's license. </li><li>Requires the ability to be on-call. </li><li>Requires use of agency-supplied technology. </li><li>This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings. </li><li>Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position.
