The Manager of Finance will be responsible for various assigned areas within the corporate finance team. Potential areas of responsibility include the following: overall maintenance of general ledger and chart of accounts; responsibility for consolidated general accounting functions, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations; coordination of annual inventory counts; involvement in annual financial statement audit; month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close procedures; and accounting analysis and review. The Manager of Finance will ensure that resources are efficiently and effectively employed and that the highest ethical standards and business practices are observed. Areas of responsibility include, but not limited to the following: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key IT vendors Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding contractual obligations, performance expectations and operational issues Facilitate regular communication and meetings with vendors to review performance, address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement. Work with IT vendors to foster a partnership approach, driving mutual success and innovation Manager the full lifecycle of vendor contracts Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure vendor performance against contractual obligations and business objectives Implement and maintain a vendor scorecard to track and communicate vendor performance Lead budget analysts to oversee vendor contracts and vendor management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing financial performance Responsibilities It is the responsibility of every Novant Health team member to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time. Qualifications Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; required. Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting services, required. Supervisor experience and proven ability to direct and develop others, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Certified Public Accountant, preferred. Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Strong accounting and analytical skills; must be able to absorb large amounts of data. Manages and develops a team. Financial acumen and general business savvy; will be strong financially and committed to seeing that Novant Health remains fiscally sound. Strategic mindset with strong conceptual abilities; will be a planner and a thinker; will understand the "big picture" and can continuously look for ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of corporate finance functions. Capable of managing multiple high-priority projects and work within the constraints of multiple deadlines. Leadership ability; the bent for taking responsibility, moving ahead, and encouraging others to share the vision; the qualities that inspire confidence and trust; a proactive, roll-up-the-sleeves style is a requirement. Excellent communication skills; must be able to elicit the real issues and be adept at presenting his/her ideas orally and in writing. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a large organization; strong interpersonal skills and a highly professional demeanor. High energy level; someone who understands the urgency of meeting the organization's needs; a sleeve-up style that is comfortable doing and delegating.
