<p>Job Summary: The Donor Communications Specialist is responsible for creation and development of compelling fundraising messaging through various fundraising channels including - but not limited to - appeals, newsletters, and e-communications, to assist in cultivation and stewardship of donors. This position will assist in the execution and expansion of a donor stewardship program that will generate, maintain, and improve support for the fundraising activities of the organization. Will work deeply within an email platform and web content management system. Must be collaborative across the organization ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Works with Annual Fund Manager to strategize and produce written content for direct mail fundraising appeal letters, newsletters, and e-communications. </li><li>Helps develop new and engaging ways to connect and communicate with current donors and to acquire new supporters. </li><li>Works with Annual Fund Manager to create a plan and calendar for online communications. </li><li>Acts as a liaison with the communications department. </li><li>Maintains and manages email platform to engage, solicit and cultivate donors year-round through email communications. </li><li>Writes and updates content for acknowledgement letters. </li><li>Assists in creating and writing content for donation forms and surveys for fundraising event purposes. </li><li>Assists with fundraising events as needed. </li><li>Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws regarding donations and follows all NorthStar Care Community standards for donor integrity. </li><li>Actively participates in meetings at the individual, group, and organizational levels, both within and external to the organization, to achieve desired outcomes. </li><li>Utilizes allocated supplies and resources appropriately to ensure business outcomes are met. </li><li>Actively participates in internal and external education, training, in-services, and other activities to promote personal and professional growth. </li><li>Adjusts to changes in workload and schedules based on changing departmental and organizational priorities. </li><li>Adheres to organizational Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and all regulatory and legal requirements. </li><li>Adheres to the NorthStar standards to care for every person, every time, 100% of the time. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; degree in Communications preferred. Experience with donor databases such as Raiser's Edge desired. </li><li>One (1) year experience in the development arena preferred. </li><li>Concentration in donor communications, grants and/or proposal writing preferred. </li><li>Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred. </li><li>Must demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. </li><li>Must demonstrate strong organizational skills. </li><li>Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills, attention to detail, tact, dependability, emotional intelligence, and the ability to promote positive, constructive relationships with communication and collaboration at all levels with the ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Must demonstrate ability to maintain accountability and work independently and creatively while functioning as part of a cooperative, coordinated team. </li><li>Must be able to read, write and speak English and be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing in internal and external relationships for all essential job functions. </li><li>The physical and sensory demands of the position include vision, effective speech, and hearing for extensive telephone contact; repetitive motion; driving or riding in a motor vehicle; standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching; and lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted. </li><li>Must be able to work variable hours/shifts and/or days, including weekends. Must have the ability to occasionally work extended days, as necessary. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation. </li><li>Must be eligible to work in the United States. </li></ul>
