<p>Position Purpose</p> <p>The Clinical Coordinator-RN is a registered nurse who has expertise in fields such as neurology or cardiovascular nursing practice that is responsible for the development, implementation, operations, and evaluation of the clinical programs. The position is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to specialty patient populations.</p> <p>This position assumes day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities as they relate to nursing, registry, and clinic staff. Responsibilities include communication to internal and external stakeholders, oversight of the programmatic quality performance improvement plans across the care continuum, and partnership with patients. The position collaborates with medical faculty, clinical staff, and others to ensure the effectiveness of patient care. Additionally, the position works in conjunction with the program Medical Director (TMD) and aligns with the care expectations from specific accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission or American College of Cardiology.</p> <p>The position is considered a technical expert in their respective field and is responsible for oversight of a highly complex patient population and program. The position will collaborate with other employees, from multiple cost centers, and is responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments.</p> <p>Nature and Scope</p> <p>Program Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Develops and establishes operational and strategic goals and objectives consistent with the job specific accrediting bodies, service line, and Renown Health </li><li>Participates in the development of care systems at their service line and community levels. </li><li>Provides for intra-facility and regional professional staff development, participates in case review, designs, and implements practice guidelines, supports community education, and collaborates with the prevention program leaders. </li><li>Oversees strategic and operational projects as it relates to the job specific program. </li><li>Coordinates management across the continuum of specialty care including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines, policies, and procedures; monitoring care of patients; and serving as a resource for clinical practice. </li><li>Provides guidance to all staff involved in clinical care across the care continuum. </li><li>Collaborates with registry on collection and developing processes for validation of data. </li><li>Supports planning and participates in clinical research as approved or directed. </li><li>Evaluates and reports to departmental/organizational senior management on status and changes in program. </li><li>Stabilizes the complex network of the many disciplines that work in concert to provide high-quality care. </li></ul> <p>Program Performance</p> <ul> <li>Facilitates protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis. </li><li>Develops quality filters, audits, and case reviews; identify trends, sentinel events, and help outline remedial actions to improve practice and reduce potential for patient complications </li><li>Participates in and contributes to research projects and the analysis and distribution of findings. </li><li>Oversees collection and utilization of operational and benchmarking data; recommends targets for improvements. </li><li>Analyzes clinical practice to identify opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency. </li><li>Facilitates cross-functional performance improvement teams. </li><li>Research industry best practices and recommends process improvements to leadership. </li><li>Monitors clinical processes, outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided. </li><li>Evaluates current related research for applicability within units or programs of care. </li></ul> <p>Education/Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Serves as a key patient contact for education and plan of care comprehension </li><li>Develops patient programmatic education, including patient handbooks and emphasizing self-management. </li><li>Acts as an internal resource for staff in all departments, including but not limited to mentorship of other healthcare professionals in the care of their specific patient population. </li><li>Works in conjunction across the system with other departments to ensure they have a strong and effective orientation processes. </li><li>Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive patient education programs that assure quality and appropriateness of care across settings for their specific patient population. </li><li>Designs and orchestrates the delivery of applicable communication to internal and external constituents. </li></ul> <p>This position does provide direct patient care.</p> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. Bachelor of Art or Bachelor of Science is required.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical setting is required. Experience in a specialty practice is preferred.</p> <p>License(s):</p> <p>Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.</p> <p>Certification(s):</p> <p>None</p> <p>Computer / Typing:</p> <p>Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.</p>
