<p>LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE PRE-K TEACHER JOHN ASHLEY</p> <p>Key duties include creating a safe and nurturing classroom, managing behavior, communicating with parents about progress, tracking development, and collaborating with staff to ensure children's physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being and growth. Responsibilities Include:</p> <p>Curriculum & Instruction:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute daily and weekly lesson plans that are creative, engaging, and suitable for 4-year-olds based upon district approved curriculum </li><li>Use a variety of educational methods, including storytelling, educational play, songs, and arts and crafts. </li></ul> <p>Child Development & Well-being:</p> <ul> <li>Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development. </li><li>Create a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment that promotes exploration and positive interactions. </li><li>Supervise children during all activities </li><li>Act as a positive role model and help children develop self-esteem and respect for others. </li><li>Engage and implement best practices based on PBIS and Responsive Classroom strategies and interventions </li></ul> <p>Classroom Management:</p> <ul> <li>Establish and enforce classroom rules and ensure positive behavior management. </li><li>Mediate conflicts and encourage cooperative play. </li><li>Organize and maintain a clean, orderly, and well-supplied classroom space. </li><li>Communication & Reporting: </li><li>Assess and track each child's individual progress and development. </li><li>Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers regarding their child's development, behavior, and any concerns. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Compliance:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to provide a cohesive educational experience </li><li>Adhere to state and federal education standards and health/safety regulations </li><li>Identify and address any potential learning or developmental issues, escalating concerns as needed </li></ul> <p>Approximate dates of assignment: August 25, 2025 - November 28, 2025</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred Massachusetts D.E.S.E. Certification PK-2 With or Without Disabilities preferred.</p> <p>Salary Range: $130.00/day - $160.00/day</p>
