<p>TITLE: Director of Student Services</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li>Appropriate certification </li><li>Master's Degree in educational administration </li><li>Minimum of five years of teaching experience and at least three years of special education administrative experience </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find acceptable </li></ol> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>SUPERVISES: In conjunction with the building principals, all special education, and classroom support personnel. Classroom support services include, but are not limited to the following: guidance, psychologists, adjustment counselors, speech/language, outside educational service providers and tutors.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Provides effective leadership and vision for all schools and district in the area of special education and related services. </li><li>Works in collaboration with other school and district administrators as a member of the Medway Leadership Team. </li><li>Engages in activities to promote achievement of the district vision and mission. </li><li>Makes recommendations for program improvement. </li><li>Prepares and submits all special education reports required by local, state and federal agencies. 6.Reviews and makes recommendations to the superintendent for the development of the special education and classroom support services budget. </li><li>Administers the special education and student support services budget allocations. </li><li>Writes and manages all special education grants. </li><li>In cooperation with building principals, participates in the generation of performance evaluations of all special education and student support personnel. </li><li>Prepares and submits such reports as may be required by the superintendent or school committee in a timely manner. </li><li>Ensures that the district's guidance services provide for the developmental needs of students, in addition to providing college placement assistance. </li><li>Coordinates home/hospital services for eligible students. </li><li>Makes decisions on appropriate educational placements, services, and transportation for students with special needs both within and outside the district. </li><li>Plans and implements professional development for special education staff members. </li><li>Monitors student support teams. </li><li>Works in partnership with the Medway Special Education Parent Advisory Council. </li><li>Participates actively in job-alike groups at the local and regional level. </li><li>Serves as the district's 504 coordinator. </li><li>Performs additional duties as assigned by the superintendent. </li></ol> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months. / Full Year Individual contract</p> <p>OPTIONAL BENEFITS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Medical and/or Dental coverage Flex Spending Life Insurance Cancer and/or Disability Insurance 403b Retirement Savings Discounted rates for Medway Early Childhood Center (daycare)</p> <p>Interested applicants are asked to submit resume and minimum of three (3) references via School Spring.</p>
