<p>Description</p> <p>An employee in this job class is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing projects within the Police IT Unit. The Project Manager ensures that the Department's software development and related IT services are executed efficiently and in alignment with established goals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director, Police IT Unit.</p> <p>Duty Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to meet Department needs. The ability to work remotely is possible and will be determined by the Commander.</p> <p>POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Lead the Software Development Team, managing day-to-day activities and ensuring effective performance. </li><li>Implement and maintain project control processes, including change control, risk management, and testing, using Agile methodologies. </li><li>Facilitate regular project meetings with team members and stakeholders, including preparing agendas, documenting discussions, and providing follow-up actions and status reports. </li><li>Manage multiple projects of varying complexity, ensuring all teams are on track to meet deadlines and objectives. </li><li>Track and report on project progress, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon architectures, standards, and procedures. </li><li>Take full responsibility for the planning, documentation, and successful completion of projects. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Knowledge of computer systems and peripheral equipment (e.g., printers, desktops). </li><li>Proficient in writing and updating operating procedures. </li><li>Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues independently or in collaboration with the development team. </li><li>Experience in project management and using project management software (e.g., JIRA). </li><li>Familiarity with Agile practices and methodologies. </li><li>PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Training and Experience:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and certifications.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>INCENTIVES</p> <p>The St. Louis County Police Department offers 7% shift differential pay for those who work the midnight shift. In addition, the Department offers tuition reimbursement and education incentives for officers who possess a degree of higher education from an accredited institution. They shall receive the following addition to their base rate of pay:</p> <p>Associate's degree: $1,200/year</p> <p>Bachelor's degree: $2,400/year</p> <p>Master's degree: $4,800/year</p> <p>Doctorate degree: $7,200/year</p> <p>Education incentive pay is subject to confirmation by Human Resources and will include proof of an official transcript awarding or conferring the degree.</p> <p>CITIZENSHIP: Citizen of the United States or valid work permit, and apply for citizenship when eligible.</p> <p>AGE LIMITS: Eighteen (18) years of age at the time of appointment.</p> <p>EDUCATION: Educational requirements and skills will be determined by the position classification.</p> <p>ARREST: Must be free from conviction of a felony or a Class "A" misdemeanor.</p> <p>MILITARY: Must not have a"Dishonorable"discharge or"Bad Conduct"discharge if having served in the military. All"Other Than Honorable"discharges will be reviewed on an individual basis.</p> <p>COMPETITIVE SELECTION PROCESS</p> <p>Under the regulations of the Police Department, all appointments to the St. Louis County Police Department are made on the basis of a continuously open, competitive hiring process conducted under the supervision of the Personnel Services Unit.
