<p>General Job Description Position Overview The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing, replacing, and commissioning heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship that meets safety standards and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Installation & Commissioning Install new HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, ventilation systems, and related components. Perform system start-ups, testing, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine installation requirements. Quality & Safety Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and company safety standards. Conduct system inspections to verify proper operation and identify potential issues. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Customer Service Communicate clearly with customers regarding installation procedures, system operations, and maintenance recommendations. Provide exceptional service by answering customer questions and addressing concerns professionally. Documentation & Reporting Accurately document installation activities, materials used, and any deviations from planned work. Complete required service and installation forms using company software or paperwork. Team Collaboration Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and fellow technicians to complete jobs efficiently. Assist with training of junior or apprentice technicians when required. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 Specific Qualifications Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1-3 years of HVAC installation experience (may vary based on level). EPA Section 608 Certification. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in confined spaces, attics, and outdoor environments. Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and refrigerant handling. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred HVAC trade school certificate or Associate degree in HVAC technology. Additional certifications (e.g., NATE). Experience with residential and/or commercial installations. Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Strong time-management and organizational abilities. Familiarity with digital tools, including mobile work order systems. Working Conditions Work performed in homes, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions, heights, tight spaces, and job-site hazards. May require overtime, weekend, or on-call availability depending on project needs.
