<p>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders. Detects any therapeutic incompatibilities. (50%) </li><li>Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging and labeling (5%) </li><li>Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies, advises interventions when necessary. (5%) </li><li>Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technician's workflow. Verifies their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections. (15%) </li><li>Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals. Counsel's patients on drug therapies. (15%) </li><li>Complies with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration. (5%) </li><li>Maintains records for controlled substances. Removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.</p> <p>MARGINAL JOB DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols. </li><li>Maintains a safe and clean working environment. </li><li>Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops and conferences. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. </li><li>Licensure: Current Michigan Pharmacist license, BLS Certification </li><li>Experience: Previous supervisory experience of Pharmacy staff, preferred. Strong familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations. </li><li>Skills: Computer skills. Knowledge of Pharmacy program literacy. Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred). </li><li>Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population. </li><li>Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for an entire workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and twist while holding up to 25 lbs. frequently. </li><li>Hours of Work: Full-time or Part-time; Flexible and varied as assigned. </li><li>Travel: Generally, it is not a requirement of this position.
