<p>Job#: 3030090</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Lead, AI Product Owner</p> <p>Location: Madison, Wisconsin</p> <p>Employment Type: Contract to Perm</p> <p>Role Overview</p> <p>The Lead, AI Product Owner is responsible for managing the day-to-day product ownership, curation, and operational governance of enterprise AI tools, products, and services. As a member of the Technology Innovation Office, this role translates business needs and AI strategy into governed, usable, and measurable product-based outcomes. The position requires strong product management discipline, operational rigor, and the ability to operate independently within a complex organization.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as product owner for enterprise AI products, managing the backlog, prioritization, and release cadence. </li><li>Evolve, manage, and maintain a curated catalog of approved AI tools and capabilities. </li><li>Develop and execute intake processes for new AI tools and vendor offerings. </li><li>Partner with AI, Automation, Infrastructure, Security, and Governance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards. </li><li>Coordinate the onboarding of AI tools, including licensing models, access controls, and role-based provisioning. </li><li>Ensure appropriate telemetry, reporting, and monitoring mechanisms are in place. </li><li>Support compliance with AI governance, privacy, and security policies. </li><li>Work closely with business units to understand needs and translate them into product enhancements. </li><li>Define and monitor KPIs such as adoption rates, utilization, user satisfaction, and productivity gains. </li><li>Produce regular reporting for leadership on product performance and value realization. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education: A Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience is required.</p> <p>Experience: This position requires 7+ years of experience in technology product management, digital platforms, enterprise software delivery, or innovation operations. Demonstrated experience managing a product backlog and coordinating cross-functional delivery teams is necessary. Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g., insurance, financial services, healthcare) is also required.</p> <p>Technical Skills: Candidates must have familiarity with AI tools, licensing models, and enterprise access management. Strong organizational skills, executive communication capability, and the ability to operate with limited supervision are essential.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing enterprise marketplaces or internal technology platforms. </li><li>Familiarity with corporate AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot). </li><li>Exposure to AI governance, responsible AI practices, or risk management processes. </li><li>Experience implementing role-based access and service account models. </li><li>A background in platform analytics and usage reporting. </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <p>The compensation for this position is between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00 annually. The pay rate is between $60.00 and $85.00 per hour.
