<p>This position is located in Community Living Center, at the Salisbury VAMC in Salisbury, NC 28144. The NA may perform theses duties in a variety of health care settings such as outpatient, inpatient, home or community living care, acute, sub-acute. The NA will care for patients/residents with acute to chronic conditions</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizes advanced skills to perform restorative care interventions according to the CLC Restorative Nursing Care Program: Range of Motion, Ambulation, Transfers, Bed Mobility, Splint and Brace Care, Dressing and Grooming, Restorative Dining, Communication, Amputation and Prosthetic Care, and Bowel and Bladder Toileting Programs. </li><li>Assists residents with their rehabilitation plan in a maintenance capacity, under the direction of a therapist to include range of motion activities, transfers, ambulation, etc. </li><li>Develops and conducts small group activities for residents in order to engage the resident in a meaningful way throughout the day and promote social interaction. </li><li>Demonstrates to residents and staff, as necessary, the procedures involved in the restorative care process. </li><li>Recommends modifications and changes in the resident's restorative care plan as indicated. </li><li>Performs supportive instruction, cueing, assistance and/or supervision in active or active assisted range of motion exercises. </li><li>Performs supportive instruction, cueing, assistance and/or supervision in splint or brace application and removal including scheduling of daily resident application and removal of device and assessing/documenting skin integrity under the device. </li><li>Performs supportive instruction, cueing assistance and/or supervision in bed mobility procedures including positioning, moving to either side, turning, moving to head and foot of bed, and moving from supine to sitting position. </li><li>Performs supportive instruction, cueing, assistance and/or supervision in transfer procedures with or without assistive devices </li><li>Maintains a positive therapeutic relationship by displaying respect for human dignity with patient, families and/or significant others utilizing learned communication skills. </li><li>Begins to utilize observation skills for data collection, reporting and recording patient/resident observations. </li><li>Learning to utilize principles of proper body mechanics and follows procedures for use of patient care equipment to prevent injury to self or others in all settings such as utilization of lifting equipment. </li><li>Other Restorative Care activities as determined by the Restorative Nurse Specialist. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Days/Evenings/Nights; Rotating Tours, to include weekends and holidays.</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>Financial Disclosure Report: Not required</p>
