<p>Wyandotte County Historical Museum Digital Humanities</p> <p>The Unified Government of Wyandotte County AmeriCorps VISTA Program strengthens local capacity to improve access to historical information and educational resources for low-income and underserved residents. This position supports the Wyandotte County Historical Museum by developing sustainable systems for digitization, data management, and community engagement. The VISTA member will develop and implement standardized processes for digitizing cemetery records and creating a centralized database to improve organization and long-term access. They will create tools and guidelines to ensure data quality and support development of systems that allow the public to access records more easily. The member will also support the development of systems for responding to public information requests, including creating templates, guides, and tools that help residents locate burial information and conduct genealogical research. In addition, the VISTA will assist in developing outreach strategies, educational materials, and community engagement tools related to cemetery history and preservation. By strengthening systems for data management, public access, and community engagement, this project will improve access to historical and genealogical information.
