Posting Number 20162742F Job Description</p> <p>The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science within the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University invites applications for Stocker Visiting Professor positions at all ranks and from all areas of Computer Engineering/Computer Science. We are looking for outstanding candidates with demonstrated excellence in research, as well as a keen interest in teaching and a commitment to student success. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with our faculty, mentor students and strengthen our research programs. We expect that the Stocker Visiting Professor will teach one course per semester.</p> <p>This is a short-term position for an initial period of two years with a possible renewal for an additional year.</p> <p>The Stocker Visiting Professor will be expected to provide additional depth for research and teaching, broaden the horizons of our students by supporting existing efforts to develop inclusive pedagogy while utilizing modern tools to provide hands-on learning experiences in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Candidates from all relevant research areas in Computer Engineering and Computer Science are highly encouraged to apply.</p> <p>The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University and offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. At present, there are roughly 550 undergraduate students, 100 master's degree students and 40 PhD students in the School of EECS. EECS employs 22 full-time tenured, tenure-track, and instructional faculty. New sponsored research awards in the School of EECS have averaged roughly $4M per year over the last five years, and numerous research collaboration opportunities exist within the School's Avionics Engineering Center and Center for Scientific Computing and Immersive Technologies (CSCIT).</p> <p>Ohio University: Ohio University is a public, comprehensive, R1 university that conducts high-quality research across many disciplines, and emphasizes an excellent, learner-centered educational experience by providing undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs to approximately 25,000 students in a residential setting.
