<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Administrators and Supervisors/Principal</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/16/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Marshall Street School</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>08/04/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Principal</p> <p>Marshall Street School/Job Development Program</p> <p>12 month assignment - Category 7 $94,542 - $151,141</p> <p>Employee Benefits Summary</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Eligibility for Maryland State Department of Education Professional Certificate with Administrator I/II endorsement </li><li>Five (5) years of documented successful classroom teaching or equivalent experience. </li><li>Experience as a school administrator. </li><li>Demonstrated successful leadership experience (school-based, central office, or equivalent). </li><li>Commitment to the achievement of the Master Plan of the Washington County Public Schools. </li><li>Ability to sustain and promote highly effective instruction through the integration of technology and effective leadership. </li><li>Successful leadership in educational activities related to instruction and administration. </li><li>Ability to effectively apply knowledge of best practices and educational research. </li><li>Experience with and knowledge of pre-kindergarten through grade twelve (12) educational technology, progress monitoring (21st century learning skills), and post-secondary transitioning. </li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) or more years of special education experience. </li><li>Knowledge of the State Curriculum, Common Core State Standards, the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching, and the Maryland School Assessment Program. </li><li>Familiarity with local, state, and national trends in education relevant to school programs. </li><li>Successful experience with creating, sustaining, and enhancing community employment programs for students with disabilities.. </li></ul> <p>Role Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate individualized programs as prescribed by student individualized educational programs (IEP's) and achievement of appropriate outcomes by students. </li><li>Oversee the development and implementation of a vision for learning that is shared and supported by all stakeholders. </li><li>Oversee all aspects of a school culture to promote student achievement and an effective professional learning community. </li><li>Oversee the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment. </li><li>Oversee the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the purpose of improved data-based instructional practices. </li><li>Oversee and optimize existing special educational programs through enhancing partnerships and the integration of technology through highly effective instruction. </li><li>Oversee the evaluation of staff effectiveness for high quality teaching and learning. </li><li>Ensure the success of every student by acting in an ethical manner with integrity and fairness. </li><li>Provide staff with focused, sustained, and research-based professional development. </li><li>Attend and contribute to professional meetings. </li><li>Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental Requirements</p> <p>The Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental demands represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
