<p>Job Title: Director of Outreach and Specialty Programs FLSA Status: Exempt Revision Date: 3/20/26 Leadership Level: Team Leader Primary Function: Various POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Outreach and Specialty Programs is responsible for facilitating the success of students and participants in student orientation small-group experiences, employment programs, and community outreach programs. The Gateway Region YMCA strictly follows a zero tolerance policy regarding child abuse. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Supports and supervises service and leadership activities to meet the needs of the community, WashU and the mission of the YMCA. 2. Mentor and support student leaders as they develop leadership skills, navigate partnerships, recruit and support volunteers and lead community-based initiatives. 3. Oversight of current community service programs, Student Executive Council, and administration support of social media outlets. 4. Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations while collaborating closely with YMCA branches and university departments to advance shared goals, including participation in interdepartmental teams. 5. Assists in the marketing and distribution of branch information, may organize and schedule program registrations. 6. Serve as the backbone of community partnerships by ensuring sustainability and compliance, supporting annual MOUs, and facilitating regular check-ins through meetings, surveys, and emails. 7. Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives. 8. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events. 9. May assist with Board of Advisors meetings. 10. Support evaluation and reporting on program efficacy 11.
